Bodrum’s Most Livable Village: "Gümüşlük"

Real estate is as enjoyable and fulfilling as teaching. You help people turn the savings they have built through great sacrifice into property. This is exactly where my slogan comes in, one I stand behind firmly and repeat all the time: "In my view, a good doctor saves you from the clutches of death, a good lawyer saves you from the gallows, but a good real estate agent makes you rich."
Real estate is a profession that demands entrepreneurship, a willingness to take risks and a lot of hard work. A qualified real estate consultant must understand economics and psychology, read needs correctly and manage them as required. They are by your side from preparing the property for sale through marketing it all the way to the title deed office; they represent you. That is why authorising a consultant when selling property protects you. Only 5% of owners who say "I can sell my house myself" succeed, and even then they earn far less than a consultant would have secured for them.
At Keller Williams Bodrum we work with a focus on education, technology and people. Every one of my colleagues has a specialty. Some work with land, some with commercial property, some with homes. Each has a region they specialise in, where they track price per square metre, sold and upcoming properties, and know the numbers inside out. We work as a team of more than one hundred and fifty people in our office. A seller or buyer working with me is in fact partnering with all one hundred and fifty of them and benefiting from the value and opportunities they bring. We are all organised, disciplined parts of a whole spread across the Bodrum peninsula. Alongside education and technology, we are building a principled real estate market with a culture of its own.
The saying "Bodrum is a little Istanbul" is very true. For example, Kumbahçe is Istanbul's Bebek, Yalıkavak is Nişantaşı, and Gümüşlük is like Cihangir. In Gümüşlük you chat with a writer at the village restaurant, sing along with many famous people on the beach, go to Gümüşlük Spor matches at the weekend, sail and go fishing. You live like a villager and a city dweller at the same time. You buy your milk and eggs fresh, eat a thousand and one kinds of wild herbs, and pick lemons and mandarins in the streets. On the other hand, you are just as much a city dweller. Every kind of concert, course or event is at most half an hour away. The cramped, lost feeling that big cities draw you into turns into freedom and spaciousness in Bodrum.
Of course, the pandemic limited life here too. But it made us love the wonderful sunsets, the sparkling beaches, the streets steeped in history and the Mediterranean, and the abundant markets even more.
Driven above all by demand from business people who discovered remote work after the pandemic, prices rose sharply worldwide and in Turkey, especially along the coast. Naturally, this was reflected in rents as well. Experience shows that real estate returns are more reliable than other financial instruments and higher over the long term.
Considering the imbalance between supply and demand, currency fluctuations, an ever-growing population, rising raw material prices and the difficulty of finding zoned land, it is clear that property prices in Bodrum will not fall in the short term.
The motto we always share with our clients in Bodrum: the property you buy is more expensive than yesterday, but it will be cheaper than tomorrow. That is why now is exactly the right time both to buy and to sell.
